NCD – What is the NCD Network diagram?
The "NCD Network" option of the navigation pane's "Views" section displays a diagram depicting the levels of networking between your VMs and the Internet.
The difference between the NCD Network diagram and the diagrams provided on vDataCenter and vApp detail pages is that vApps and vDCs are not distinguished on the NCD Network diagram. Instead, the NCD Network diagram depicts VMs along with anything acting in the capacity of a routing device or firewall -- network gateways -- along with vDC networks.
The NCD Network diagram provides a visualization of your environment from a network perspective, omitting vApp abstractions but including depiction of networking applied at multiple levels between Internet and VMs.
You can click the diagram's Legend button to bring up a key to all the symbols shown.
Click-enabled portions of the diagram provide pop-up summaries of
constituent objects in the network, which in turn offer links to drill down
further into their detail pages.
