NCD – Examining VM Performance Metrics

Each running VM's detail page includes a "Performance" section featuring a graphical presentation of the server's performance numbers.  The graph's left vertical axis charts CPU and memory as percentages, while its right axis charts network performance as Mbps. The horizontal axis is a timeline that defaults to three-hour segments of a 24-hour period or five minute segments of a "last hour" period.

Move your mouse pointer within the graph and the system displays the CPU, memory, and network performance numbers for each point along the timeline.

Use the toggle switch above the graph labeled "Last hour / 24 hours" to switch the time frame for which the system displays performance data.

A control on the graph's horizontal axis enables you to zoom the timeline's interval units to your needs. Drag your mouse pointer rightward to select a time range into which the horizontal axis should drill down. The timeline axis and graph display changes accordingly.

Click the (conditionally displayed) Reset zoom button in the graph area's upper right to return the graph and timeline axis to pre-zoom state.
