NCD – Adding or Removing Tags

Tags are keywords that you can use to identify or logically group similar objects, and can be used in search operations. Tags are displayed in light green boxes at the top of an object's Detail page.


Tags can be assigned to:
  • vDataCenters (vDCs)

  • vDC networks

  • vApps

  • vApp networks

  • VMs

  • vApp templates

  • media

  • physical assets

Adding a Tag to an Object

To add a tag to an object in Navisite Cloud Director:
  1. Navigate to the Detail page of the object to which the tag will be added.

  2. At the top of the Detail page, click +Add tag.


  3. Enter the text for the tag in the resulting text box.

  4. Click the green checkmark button to save the tag. Click the X button to cancel the operation.
The tag is added to the Detail page for the object.

Removing a Tag from an Object

To remove a tag from an object in NCD:
  1. Navigate to the Detail page of the desired object.


  2. At the top of the Detail page, click the X in the displayed tag to be removed.
The tag is removed from the Detail page for the object.
